Philosophy and Methodology
The SacralBodyMethod is yoga practice uniquely crafted to blend the fluidity of Vinyasa, the strength of Ashtanga, the balance of Hatha, the vitality of Power yoga, and the precision of Pilates and classical ballet. This combination creates a comprehensive approach that emphasizes core strength, spinal health, and the sacral architecture of the body.
Having faced intense lower back pain from my years in ballet and working on a desk, I understand the importance of maintaining a strong and flexible spine. SacralBodyMethod classes focus on building a resilient core and aligning the body to prevent and alleviate pain. Spinal health is crucial as the spine supports the body's structure and protects the nervous system. By improving spinal alignment and flexibility, my yoga practice helps to alleviate back pain, enhance posture, and boost overall physical health.
The sacral architecture of the body refers to the alignment and balance of the pelvis and lower spine. Proper alignment in this area is essential for overall stability and movement efficiency. My yoga practice incorporates targeted poses and movements to ensure the sacrum is properly aligned and enhancing the body's natural range of motion.
Core strength is nother fundamental aspect of my yoga practice. A strong core supports the spine, improves balance, and enhances overall physical performance. My classes include exercises and poses that engage the deep core muscles, promoting a strong and stable center. This focus on core strength not only helps in maintaining spinal health but also improves functional movement and athletic performance.
Breathwork, or pranayama, is a cornerstone of the SacralBodyMethod. I believe that mastering breath control is essential for both physical and mental well-being. Through pranayama, I guide my students to reduce stress, enhance concentration, and achieve overall balance. Controlled breathing techniques increase oxygen flow, reduce stress hormones, and promote relaxation, which are vital for maintaining a balanced and healthy body and mind.
The integration of mindful movements and correct posture in my classes helps students develop a deep body awareness, ensuring each movement is intentional and beneficial. This mindfulness not only enhances the effectiveness of the practice but also helps prevent injuries by promoting proper alignment and technique. Meditation techniques are also woven into the practice to foster mental clarity and inner peace, complementing the physical benefits of yoga.
In essence, my yoga method is a harmonious blend of strength, flexibility, and mindfulness, designed to unlock the hidden depths of physical and mental capabilities, encouraging students to explore their true potential. By focusing on spinal health, sacral architecture, and core strength, my practice offers a comprehensive approach to overall well-being, helping students achieve a balanced, pain-free, and empowered life.
